Pika privacy policy
Pika does not collect, store, share or sell any information about you. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, it makes no network connections of its own, and it is built only with Apple’s frameworks.
Camera and microphone
Pika uses the camera only while you are recording or about to record. The microphone is off unless you turn sound on, and Pika asks for it only then. Video and sound go into your clip and nowhere else. The suggested trim is worked out on your device and kept only in memory.
Your clips
On iPhone and iPad, clips are kept in Pika’s own temporary storage. A clip you discard is deleted at once. A clip you add to a message is kept briefly so Messages can send it, and removed the next time you open Pika after an hour has passed. On the Mac, clips are saved in the Pika folder in your Movies folder, and stay there until you move them to the Trash.
Pika never reads or writes your Photos library.
Sending
Pika never sends anything itself. On iPhone and iPad it puts the clip in the Messages field, and Messages sends it when you tap Send, end-to-end encrypted by Apple when it goes by iMessage. On the Mac, you choose where a clip goes from the system Share menu, such as Messages, Mail or AirDrop. Those services carry it under their own terms and Apple’s privacy policy.
Settings
Your choices, such as whether sound is on and the Mac’s keyboard shortcut, are saved on your device only.
What Apple may collect
Apple handles the download and, if you have agreed to it in your device’s settings, may share anonymous crash and usage reports with developers. That is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Email you choose to send us reaches us with whatever you put in it; we use it only to answer you.
Children
Pika collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
